CHOOSING THE RIGHT SHOWER FILTER
What do the filters remove from the water?
All our April Shower Line of Filters remove harmful chlorine, chlorine vapors, iron oxides (rust water), hydrogen sulfide (sulfur smell) and odors, while pH balancing the water. The Aquasana®, in addition, reduces VOC’s, THMs, and other chemicals.
Which filter is appropriate for my shower?
All our filters fit standard-size shower arms. The height of your shower arm may determine which models will work best for you.
- If your shower arm is relatively high, choosing a stationary model may be more appropriate.
- If your shower arm is medium or low, a hand-held model may be a better choice. It raises the shower height 10 inches.
- The hand-held models are more versatile. They perform as a stationary filter but with their 6 ft. hose are well suited for children, seated showers, and cleaning tubs and shower stalls.

Are the filters made of metal or plastic?
Our Supreme and Deluxe model filters are made of pure brass with either high polished chrome, polished brass or brushed nickel finish. All of our other models are made of high-impact ABS plastic that vary in finish (white, chrome, brushed nickel).
How long do the cartridges last?
Each of our models are equipped with replaceable cartridges. The life of the cartridge varies depending upon use, water conditions, and filter model. Below are the cartridge life expectancies under average conditions:
