Most people regard a hot shower or bath as one of life’s little pleasures. However, what many don’t regard is the danger of chlorine in the water. Although chlorine is universally used to disinfect water, it is not safe for drinking, showering or bathing. Did you know you absorb more chlorine from your shower than your drinking water?

It’s true.

During a hot shower or bath, chlorine is vaporized and enters through your lungs and the pores of your skin. Its pungent odor can often irritate the eyes, nose, throat, lungs and mucous membranes. Even if you can’t smell it, chlorine can cause hidden ailments, such as headaches and other neurotoxic reactions.

In addition, chlorine is cosmetically damaging to both hair and skin. For example, chlorine bonds with proteins in the hair making it dry and brittle, causing “blondes to turn green” and washing out natural color. It can strip the skin of its natural oils, leaving it dry, itchy, and prematurely aged.

But most importantly, studies show that cumulative exposure to chlorine significantly increases the rate of heart disease and both bladder and colon cancer.

The shower and bath filters are inexpensive solutions to expensive health risks. We guarantee they will help pH balance the water and remove the following:

Iron oxides (rust water)
Hydrogen sulfide (sulfur smell)

My son has a salt water softener. I have your April Showers cartridge. Will it be harmed or less effective with the sodium in the water?
